Overview
Senior Mechanical Engineer – Sustaining at Array Technologies leads mechanical development and support for solar tracker components at scale in a fast growing, hands on environment. You will drive product vision, design for manufacturing, and reliability improvements using CAD, FEA, and DFMEA. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with cross functional teams, and influence the product roadmap. This role blends design, analysis, and field support to deliver robust solar tracking solutions.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead responses to engineering change requests for assigned parts and sub-assemblies
- 2Perform root cause analysis and drive redlines or redesigns to address field failures
- 3Mentor and guide other engineers on programs and projects
- 4Deliver clear direction to cross functional teams to meet program targets
- 5Develop and manage component and system test plans and interpret results to prove designs meet requirements
- 6Create design records and DRDs in line with MRD and other requirements
- 7Oversee design reviews and stage gate documentation
- 8Collaborate with SolidWorks designers to produce detailed CAD models and drawings
- 9Coordinate with Quality to develop inspection and test plans for supplier qualification
- 10Support roadmap development and optimization of engineering processes for new product development
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- 210+ years developing mechanical components and systems for new products
- 38+ years of mechanical engineering hand-calculations and design experience for structural components
- 48+ years utilizing FEA, DFMA and design for cost in product development
- 55+ years of experience using 3D CAD software
- 65+ years defining design validation tests
- 74+ years in Stage Gate Product Development Processes
- 82+ years using SolidWorks
- 910+ years using Microsoft Office Suite
