Applications Engineer III - Solar Tracker Expert
Overview
You will define Array Technologies' tracker product offering by developing utility solar projects. You will analyze and cost-optimize designs for competitive positioning, leveraging 5+ years of mechanical or structural systems experience. You'll work with a dispersed sales team to provide technical solutions and build customer relationships. This role stands out for its interdisciplinary scope spanning structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
What You'll Do9
- 1Develop in-depth technical knowledge of Array's products, configurations, and site applications.
- 2Analyze and cost-optimize projects for competitive positioning of the Array offer.
- 3Provide preliminary tracker and foundation designs using AutoCAD and coordinate related design activities.
- 4Determine technical requirements for wind, snow, seismic loading, and corrosion.
- 5Prepare technical contract exhibits and Bills of Materials for the Array product offering.
- 6Create and deliver technical presentations for customer meetings.
- 7Supply technical documentation for sales activities, including responses to proposal packages.
- 8Provide timely feedback on questions and RFIs related to project or product design.
- 9Build strong technical relationships at the customer level with pre-sales engineering support.
Requirements9
- 15+ years working in the engineering field with AutoCAD.
- 25+ years experience with mechanical or structural systems.
- 3Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- 5Strong technical skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- 6Outstanding presentation, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities.
- 7Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple organizations.
- 8Experience with PVSyst for PV performance modeling (preferred).
- 9Experience with SolidWorks (preferred) and Salesforce (desired).
