Mechanical Engineer II, Sustaining - Solar Tracker Components
Overview
Solidworks and FEA driven mechanical engineering role owning design of subsystems at Array Technologies in Phoenix. You will drive cost reduction, reliability, and application expansion through design ownership and cross functional collaboration. Work with multiple management levels and teams to select state of the art technologies and products. This role emphasizes design to cost, manufacturability, and field support to ensure successful production deployment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and own design concepts for components and subsystems using SolidWorks
- 2Lead RCA efforts on components and subsystems to improve reliability
- 3Create and manage DRDs and test plans to prove designs meet MRDs and requirements
- 4Coordinate with cross functional teams to remove roadblocks and mitigate risk
- 5Drive from concept through production with documentation for internal and external customers
- 6Manage scope definition, change control, estimates, and program targets
- 7Review engineering documents and manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance
- 8Develop cost estimates and timelines for development tasks and report progress to management
- 9Collaborate with QA and supplier qualification teams on test plans and validation
- 10Provide status updates to leadership and stakeholders
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 22+ years of experience in developing mechanical components and systems for new products
- 32+ years of experience performing mechanical hand-calculations
- 42+ years of experience designing structural components and hardware, gearing and/or drivetrains
- 52+ years of experience utilizing FEA, DFMA and design for cost in development of products
- 61+ years of experience defining design validation tests
- 71+ years experience with Stage Gate Product Development Processes
- 82+ years of experience using SolidWorks
- 94+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- 10Ability to travel domestically and internationally
