Physical Plant Supervisor 3, Facilities & Maintenance
Overview
Own daily operations of the Coliseum facilities, ensuring safe, functional, and event-ready conditions for the Arizona State Fair and year-round events. Lead maintenance staff, coordinate preventive and corrective programs, and oversee capital projects. Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support events and emergencies. This role blends hands-on supervision with strategic oversight to keep a large public facility compliant and reliable.
What You'll Do10
- 1Oversee daily operations of the Fairgrounds to ensure safety, functionality, and readiness for large events
- 2Respond to operational issues and emergencies with timely actions to minimize downtime
- 3Monitor service contracts and contractor performance for quality, budget adherence, and compliance
- 4Coordinate maintenance schedules and assignments to avoid live-event disruptions and meet project deadlines
- 5Supervise and evaluate facility maintenance personnel and specialized trade contractors
- 6Prepare operational reports and maintenance logs and capital project updates
- 7Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs for building systems and infrastructure
- 8Review blueprints and technical documents to guide repairs and capital improvements
- 9Inspect facilities for compliance with building codes and regulatory standards
- 10Manage coordination of maintenance during scheduled events and emergencies
Requirements5
- 1Arizona Driver's License
- 2Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- 3Knowledge of building codes and ADEQ OSHA regulations
- 4Experience supervising maintenance staff and overseeing contractor work
- 5Strong skills in scheduling, reporting, and contract oversight
