Outlet Department Leader - Production Operations | Goodwill
Overview
You will own daily operations for a high-volume outlet department, driving safety, productivity, and sales growth while managing a diverse team of 20-30 hourly associates. Reporting to the Outlet Manager, you will balance operational targets with staff development, using MS Office to track metrics and create schedules. What You'll Do9
- 1Monitor daily operations, address concerns, and adjust workflows to meet quotas for sales, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- 2Forecast sales and expenses, manage budgets, and implement action plans to meet operating income targets.
- 3Use MS Office reports to identify trends and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
- 4Coordinate with internal teams (Stores, Click facility, Transportation, Facilities) to optimize flow and resolve root causes of issues.
- 5Ensure safety compliance by conducting audits, enforcing OSHA standards, and leading hazard elimination programs.
- 6Recruit, interview, and hire hourly associates; fill in on the floor to model goal attainment during vacancies.
- 7Coach and train associates on production standards, using performance reviews and timely feedback to drive accountability.
- 8Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on facility equipment and grounds with the technician team.
- 9Maintain a positive culture of open communication, addressing conflicts immediately to reduce attrition.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or GED or willingness to attain
- 21-3 years proven leadership experience managing people or projects
- 3Strong communication skills (oral, written, visual, and non-verbal)
- 4Solid knowledge of MS Office and internet navigation; G Suite is a plus
- 5Results-oriented with critical thinking to analyze data and identify trends
- 6Adaptable to changing priorities and able to handle crisis prevention
- 7Autonomous and ethical, adhering to company policies and confidentiality
- 8Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand, walk, or kneel for 8+ hours
- 9Frequent exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations
