Outbound Logistics Team Lead, 4-Month Contract
Overview
Own outbound staging, loading, and dispatch for high-volume sort center operations at scale. Lead warehouse teams to ensure shipments depart accurately and on time while maintaining safety standards. You will partner with yard, dock, and transportation to optimize trailer positioning and departure schedules. This role blends hands-on leadership with process improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead outbound loading, staging, and dispatch activities to ensure on-time departures
- 2Oversee accurate sorting and loading of freight by destination and route
- 3Coordinate trailer positioning, dock assignments, and departure schedules
- 4Monitor on-time performance and resolve loading or shipment issues
- 5Assign and supervise daily work for warehouse associates and coach on productivity and safety
- 6Ensure compliance with safety procedures and loading requirements
- 7Track outbound performance metrics and communicate operational updates
- 8Provide guidance to the team to maintain quality and efficiency
- 9Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve outbound processes
Requirements7
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent
- 22+ years of warehouse, logistics, shipping, or distribution experience
- 3Experience with outbound operations, staging, and load building
- 4Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- 5Preferred experience in sort center, hub, cross-dock, or transportation
- 6WMS, TMS, or load planning system experience
- 7Previous team lead or supervisory experience
