Overview

Peraton seeks a driven Network Technician to join our Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Washington DC. This role provides Tier II escalated support for troubleshooting, advanced problem resolution, remote diagnostics, and systems analysis while supporting 24/7 operations. You will evaluate LAN/WAN performance, perform network management services, and analyze client networks to recommend hardware reconfigurations. This position differs by offering direct involvement in mission-critical communications infrastructure within a leading national security provider.

What You'll Do5

  • 1Evaluate LAN/WAN performance and capacities to identify problem areas or bottlenecks
  • 2Perform network management services related to operation performance or availability
  • 3Provide LAN/WAN support with skill in network analysis integration and tuning
  • 4Analyze client LANs/WANs isolate source of problems recommend reconfiguration and implement new network hardware
  • 5Implement networking technologies and concepts such as Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols

  • 1Active TS/SCI Security Clearance required
  • 2Must work shift schedule Panama supporting 24/7 operations
  • 3Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or commensurate experience with 5+ years
  • 4DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II
  • 5CompTIA Network+ Certification
  • 6Experience with Cisco Juniper devices VLANs VPNs routers switches
  • 7Two to three years experience in network troubleshooting routers switches Cisco IOS Junos OS firewalls NetScout Wireshark NetSight SolarWinds QoS
  • 8Operational experience with local and wide area network infrastructures including routers firewalls switches servers
  • 9Previous experience supporting Government or Department of Defense customers
  • 10Proficiency in DoD IAVAs and STIGs
  • 11Ability to generate SOP documentation for help desk personnel
