Microsoft 365 Test Lead, Contract Role
Overview
You will own the Microsoft 365 testing strategy for a 12-month contract with a Fortune 500 client, coordinating a team of QA engineers and ensuring release quality. You will report to the QA Director and work onsite in Charlotte, NC or Jersey City, NJ. This role stands out for its focus on M365 suite validation, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, with opportunities to shape testing automation from day one.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build the Microsoft 365 test plan and test cases for all M365 workloads, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, within the first 30 days.
- 2Lead a team of 5 testers, assigning work and reviewing test results for accuracy.
- 3Coordinate with development and ops teams to triage and resolve defects in M365 environments.
- 4Design and implement test scripts using PowerShell and Selenium for regression and performance testing.
- 5Drive test execution across browsers and devices, tracking defects in Azure DevOps or JIRA.
- 6Deliver weekly test status reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks and mitigation plans.
- 7Ensure test environments mirror production, managing M365 tenant configuration and data seeding.
- 8Optimize regression suites to run within 4 hours, reducing manual effort by 40%.
- 9Document test results and lessons learned for future test cycles.
Requirements8
- 15+ years in software testing, with at least 2 years as a lead on Microsoft 365 or Office 365 projects.
- 23+ years experience with Azure DevOps and JIRA for test management and defect tracking.
- 3Hands-on PowerShell scripting for test automation and environment setup.
- 42+ years testing Exchange Online and SharePoint Online configurations.
- 5Proven ability to coordinate offshore and onsite test teams.
- 6Strong knowledge of Selenium and Appium for UI automation.
- 7Excellent communication skills for reporting to senior stakeholders.
- 8Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
