Mechanical Engineer, Hoisting Systems & Electromechanical Design
Overview
This role leads the design, development, testing, and launch of hoisting systems and electromechanical components for suspended access and lifting equipment. You own product performance, innovation, and manufacturability across the full lifecycle. You work with a cross-functional team of manufacturing, supply chain, and quality engineers. The role is onsite in Delaware, OH, with about 50% office, 20% lab, and 30% manufacturing environment. What You'll Do11
- 1Lead mechanical design, development, and testing of electromechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and FEA tools.
- 2Translate customer, regulatory, and internal requirements into manufacturable designs for hoisting systems.
- 3Perform stress, fatigue, deflection, and load calculations to validate design integrity.
- 4Own new product introduction activities, including design reviews, prototyping, and launch readiness.
- 5Optimize existing products using field data, warranty trends, and manufacturing input.
- 6Drive reliability, safety, and usability improvements across the product line.
- 7Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through design simplification and material changes.
- 8Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers to improve manufacturability.
- 9Support root cause analysis for field and manufacturing issues.
- 10Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- 11Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 23-5+ years in mechanical design and testing.
- 3Experience designing electromechanical systems or safety-critical equipment.
- 4Proficiency with SolidWorks and FEA tools.
- 5Direct industry experience with scaffolding, suspended access, hoisting, or lifting systems.
- 6Strong understanding of statics, mechanics of materials, and fatigue.
- 7Experience with GD&T and manufacturing processes.
- 8Proven track record leading product launches and cross-functional projects.
