Fall Protection Design Engineer, Mechanical CAD
Overview
You will design and develop fall protection products that meet rigorous safety and performance standards using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software. You'll report to the Global Engineering Director and collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product development and enhancement. This role is ideal for a mechanical engineer early in career, offering deep expertise in safety-critical design. You'll own technical documentation and support certification, making a direct impact on user safety across global markets.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design fall protection products and components using SolidWorks or Inventor and engineering principles.
- 2Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, models, and bills of materials under drawing control processes.
- 3Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept to prototyping and design iteration.
- 4Perform engineering calculations for structural integrity, load paths, and fall protection performance.
- 5Collaborate with testing and certification partners to prepare products for validation and compliance.
- 6Draft Instruction for Use (IFU) content and technical documentation.
- 7Participate in design reviews and integrate feedback from stakeholders.
- 8Troubleshoot and improve existing products for performance and manufacturability.
- 9Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to align designs with business needs.
- 10Contribute to intellectual property documentation and support materials.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 2Strong foundation in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- 3Proficiency with SolidWorks or Inventor 3D CAD software.
- 4Ability to create clear, accurate engineering drawings and documentation.
- 5Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for safety-critical design.
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 7Highly organized and detail-oriented, with eagerness to learn.
