Maintenance Technician, Multifamily & EPA Certification
Overview
You'll own the make-ready process for a 300+ unit Austin community, turning vacant apartments into rent-ready homes. You'll work alongside a stable team with strong leadership, earning $19/hr plus bonuses and full benefits. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule, rotating on-call pay, and a path to EPA certification if not already certified. This role suits a hands-on technician who takes pride in community upkeep.
What You'll Do8
- 1Complete the turn process for vacant apartments, including painting, patching, and appliance checks within 3 days of move-out.
- 2Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues using hand tools and power tools to minimize downtime.
- 3Drive the community grounds daily, picking up trash and reporting safety hazards to the property manager.
- 4Maintain pool chemistry and cleanliness, ensuring CPO standards are met during summer months.
- 5Assist fellow technicians with work orders, prioritizing urgent requests like water leaks or lockouts.
- 6Document all repairs in the work order system via Outlook and mobile apps to track completion.
- 7Participate in the rotating on-call schedule, responding to after-hours emergencies within 30 minutes.
- 8Perform routine inspections of common areas, stairwells, and amenity spaces to uphold community curb appeal.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of apartment or residential maintenance experience, including drywall repair and basic plumbing.
- 2EPA Type II or Universal certification preferred; willing to train and certify within 90 days if not held.
- 3HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience is a plus, with a focus on split systems and heat pumps.
- 4Strong customer service mindset, demonstrated by positive resident feedback or supervisor references.
- 5Ability to lift 75 lbs and work on ladders up to 20 feet, indoors and outdoors in Texas heat.
- 6Comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Yardi or similar work order software, and smartphone apps.
- 7Hold a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to commute to Cedar Park and surrounding areas.
- 8Pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
