Instructional Aide, Elementary at KIPP NCNC East Palo Alto
Overview
Education and support role focused on students in elementary settings including inclusion classrooms and distance learning. You will assist with small groups and one-to-one tutoring under a certificated Lead Teacher. You will help establish classroom behavior and support instructional activities across in-person and virtual environments. This role emphasizes relationship building, follow-through on accommodations, and alignment with KIPP mission.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build personalized learning supports for students in core subjects and language, reinforcing concepts in class and during distance learning
- 2Design and implement small group and 1:1 instruction under supervision to meet individual student goals
- 3Lead in-classroom and online activities maintaining a clean, safe, and cooperative learning environment
- 4Provide testing accommodations and monitor progress, reviewing and correcting student work to inform next steps
- 5Support behavior intervention plans and positive reinforcement strategies to sustain productive classroom behavior
- 6Guide social interactions and foster relationships between students with disabilities and their peers
- 7Assist in field trips and school assemblies, supporting student engagement and safety
- 8Adhere to health and safety guidelines in accordance with CDC CDE and public health guidance
- 9Prepare instructional materials and setup equipment for activities and assess need for modifications
- 10Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum for inclusion and accessibility
Requirements10
- 1Paid or volunteer experience with students in academic or behavioral support settings
- 2High school diploma or equivalent and either an A.A. or B.A. or 48 units or Pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment
- 3Commitment to KIPP mission anti-racist education and belief in student potential
- 4Strong content area knowledge and relationship-building skills with students families and communities
- 5Proficient with Google Suite and capable of using instructional tech for in class and distance learning
- 6Ability to work in person and virtually under supervision
- 7Bilingual in languages reflecting student populations is preferred
- 8Ability to lift 1-20 lbs and navigate school environments
- 9Willingness to adhere to health and safety guidelines and school policies
- 10Full-time 40 hours per week 12-month calendar with summer breaks and pay structure
