Instructional Aide Special Education Moderate to Severe
Overview
The Paraprofessional will own support for brain injured children across multiple campuses in Los Angeles providing direct assistance with academics social skills independence and daily living tasks. This role drives student success through consistent engagement and adherence to IEP goals. Unique aspects include leading modified schedules and handling specialized physical care requirements.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build relationships with students to foster independence and confidence
- 2Design and implement personalized learning activities aligned with IEP objectives
- 3Lead non-violent crisis interventions using NPVPI techniques
- 4Assist with toileting feeding and hygiene tasks as needed
- 5Prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom supplies
- 6Track academic and behavioral data to inform instructional adjustments
- 7Collaborate with teachers to modify activities for diverse needs
- 8Support transportation safety protocols when required
- 9Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents
- 10Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs
- 11Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all student interactions
Requirements10
- 1HS Diploma with minimum 48 college units or Bachelor's Degree
- 2Valid CA Driver License with proof of insurance for student transport duties
- 3Pass CBEST or demonstrate competency through assessment
- 4Ability to lift 75 lbs. for distances up to 5 feet
- 5Strong knowledge of Spark and Airflow for data analysis
- 6Experience with Python for script automation
- 7Familiarity with React for educational tool development
- 8Understanding of Kubernetes for cloud infrastructure management
- 9Minimum 5+ years working with special needs populations
- 10Proven ability to follow complex instructions under pressure
