Head of Maintenance, Hotel Operations & Safety in Layton
Overview
Lead the maintenance program for a Fairfield Inn property with hands on leadership and a focus on reliability at scale. You will own routine repairs, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and guest satisfaction while guiding a small team. Work closely with the General Manager on capital projects and upkeep strategy. This role offers a frontline leadership opportunity to shape guest experience through a well-maintained property.
What You'll Do10
- 1Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, carpet and floor cleaning to uphold property standards
- 2Execute and manage a Preventative Maintenance Program to prevent outages and extend asset life
- 3Perform minor HVAC repairs and adjustments including PTAC units
- 4Repair or replace room furniture, fixtures, equipment such as TVs and lighting
- 5Manage exterior areas including pool, parking lot, and curb appeal
- 6Secure tools, equipment, and supplies to protect assets and ensure readiness
- 7Report major repairs and assist with capital project planning with leadership
- 8Respond to guest repair requests promptly and professionally
- 9Assist with tasks across housekeeping and laundry as needed to support operations
- 10Maintain safe environment by following safety policies and procedures and OSHA requirements
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2At least one year of general repair experience preferred
- 3Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical, and general repair
- 4Strong organizational and time management skills
- 5Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- 6Sound judgment and independence
- 7Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- 8Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 140 pounds with assistance
