Grocery Team Member, Stocker & Customer Service at Whole Foods
Overview
As a Grocery Team Member, you will own the stock, display, and freshness of products across the entire grocery department, directly impacting daily sales and customer trust. You will work within a team of 10-15 members, reporting to the Grocery Team Leader, and collaborate with buyers and shift supervisors to manage inventory and reduce spoilage. Your role is central to Whole Foods Market's mission of nourishing people and the planet, as you ensure shelves are stocked with fresh, quality food. What You'll Do10
- 1Stock and rotate products on shelves, bulk bins, frozen and dairy cases, checking codes and removing out-of-date items to maintain freshness.
- 2Front-face products and create appealing displays that meet Whole Foods Market visual standards.
- 3Monitor and prevent spoilage, communicating waste to buyers and Team Leaders to minimize losses.
- 4Maintain back stock in good order, ensuring accurate labeling and easy access.
- 5Assist with the sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and inviting.
- 6Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
- 7Participate in periodic inventory checks to ensure accurate counts.
- 8Deliver excellent customer service, addressing needs promptly and using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
- 9Answer phones and pages courteously, supporting team communication.
- 10Follow all health and safety regulations, including Weights and Measures and sanitation procedures, and report hazards immediately.
Requirements10
- 1No prior retail experience required; we train you on all aspects of the role.
- 2Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for 6-8 hours per shift.
- 3Comfort with bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching throughout the day.
- 4Willingness to work in environments with temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit and exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- 5Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 6Ability to use tools such as box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- 7Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- 8Basic math skills for inventory and pricing tasks.
