Overview
You will own overnight stocking, inventory, and receiving for a high-volume Whole Foods Market store in Boston, ensuring shelves are full and fresh by opening. You'll join a tight-knit overnight team that moves 50,000+ cases weekly, coordinating with UNFI deliveries and DC invoices. This seasonal role offers a path to permanent placement and a 90-day wage review. You'll master inventory systems and pallet jack operation while keeping the store pristine for morning customers.
What You'll Do9
- 1Receive and check in overnight deliveries from UNFI and DC trucks, verifying invoices and reporting miss-picks to leadership.
- 2Stock shelves, bins, and food prep areas to Whole Foods quality standards, rotating product and checking expiration dates.
- 3Sort and scan waste accurately, maintaining production standards and minimizing shrink.
- 4Maintain back stock in good order, ensuring proper rotation and organization for easy access.
- 5Operate electric pallet jacks and box cutters to move and open product safely.
- 6Assist other teams with sorting and delivering overnight freight to their departments.
- 7Clean and sanitize work areas, including shelves and prep surfaces, following FDA and Weights and Measures guidelines.
- 8Provide excellent customer service to early shoppers, answering questions and suggesting products.
- 9Perform opening, mid, and closing duties, including price sign accuracy and hazard reporting.
Requirements10
- 1No prior retail experience required; we train for the role.
- 2Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and stand or walk 6-8 hours per shift.
- 3Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach during stocking and cleaning tasks.
- 4Comfort using knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- 5Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays on a flexible schedule.
- 6Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude with a passion for natural foods.
- 7Basic math skills for invoice checks and product counts.
- 8Ability to visually inspect product for freshness and quality.
- 9Willingness to follow Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols.
- 10Must work in temperatures up to 90°F and handle wet or dry conditions.
