General Warehouse Associate, Material Handling
Overview
You will own material flow in a high-volume warehouse environment at thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services NA. From day one, you sort, stack, and inspect cartons, pallets, and parts to keep production lines moving. You operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to deliver stock and support machine operators. This role demands a safety mindset as you work directly on the floor near heavy machinery. You will train peers and uphold Lean and quality standards that drive operational excellence.
What You'll Do8
- 1Sort, stack, clean, wash, and inspect cartons, pallets, and parts to support daily operations
- 2Fill and package orders, completing paperwork and using scanning technology to track inventory
- 3Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move and deliver stock safely
- 4Assist machine operators with functions like loading, unloading, and line-side supply
- 5Perform general clean-up to keep aisles and workstations safe and organized
- 6Maintain all equipment in working condition; report breakdowns to Supervisor or Lead immediately
- 7Train new hires on proper procedures and safety protocols
- 8Support Lean initiatives and comply with all health, safety, and quality requirements
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- 3Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- 4Basic computer skills
- 5Ability to use and understand scanning technology
- 6Demonstrated safety mindset and adherence to protocols
- 7Previous warehouse experience preferred
- 8Ability to use hand-held measuring tools preferred
- 9Proficiency with computer beyond basic level preferred
