General Labor Associate - Warehouse Operations | Floor & Decor
Overview
You will own warehouse housekeeping, quality control, and inventory accuracy across a high-volume distribution center in Houston. Daily work spans loading and unloading trailers, staging product for store shipments, and operating forklifts and other power equipment. You will keep the facility clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant while supporting team workflows. This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and adaptability to changing workload priorities.
What You'll Do9
- 1Maintain clean and orderly warehouse and loading areas, including sweeping, organizing pallets, and disposing of debris
- 2Load and unload shipments from trailers and containers safely, using forklifts and manual handling
- 3Stack and store merchandise in designated zones to optimize space and access
- 4Transport product between receiving, storage, and staging areas as directed
- 5Pull and prepare product for shipment per schedule, verifying quantities and labels
- 6Follow detailed instructions for housekeeping and quality control tasks, reporting discrepancies
- 7Operate all equipment safely and efficiently per prescribed methods, including daily inspections
- 8Perform minor maintenance on forklifts and other equipment, reporting major issues
- 9Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards in all tasks
Requirements8
- 12-5 years of recent work experience in a warehouse or labor-intensive role
- 2Excellent communication skills for team coordination and safety reporting
- 3Self-starter with proven team collaboration skills
- 4Ability to adjust to frequent changes in workload and priorities
- 5Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities
- 6Detail-oriented and highly organized in task execution
- 7Physical ability to lift 30-60 pounds occasionally and 20-30 pounds frequently
- 8Comfort with standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping for extended periods
