Warehouse Associate, Distribution Center & Material Handling
Overview
You will own daily order fulfillment and inventory movement across a 600K sq ft distribution center. You will operate sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and RF scanners to pick, pack, and stage products for delivery to 500,000+ customers. Working under the warehouse supervisor, you will rotate through case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, and replenishment. This role offers stable Monday-Friday shifts, overtime potential, and a clear path to senior operator or lead positions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and RF scanners to locate and deliver products to designated staging areas within your first week.
- 2Stage and load outbound orders onto trailers using dock doors and conveyor systems, ensuring 100% shipment accuracy.
- 3Verify incoming vendor deliveries against packing slips, checking for quantity and damage before stocking shelves.
- 4Pick customer orders by scanning barcodes and building pallets shrink-wrapped to HD Supply standards.
- 5Inspect returned items for wear or defects, and route them to returns, refurbishment, or disposal bins.
- 6Re-stock misplaced products using WMS locations and maintain bin accuracy through cycle counts.
- 7Keep aisles and workstations clear of debris, following all OSHA safety guidelines and company PPE rules.
- 8Cross-train in shipping, receiving, and returns to cover peak volume days and reduce overtime needs.
Requirements8
- 11+ years operating sit-down forklifts or electric pallet jacks in a warehouse or distribution center.
- 26+ months experience using RF scanning devices and WMS systems like Manhattan or SAP EWM.
- 3High school diploma or GED; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- 4Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly for an 8-hour shift.
- 5Basic math skills for counting and verifying order quantities on packing lists.
- 6Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperatures ranging 40-90°F.
- 7Availability for Monday-Friday shifts: overnight (10pm-6am), 1st (6am-2pm), or 2nd (2pm-10pm).
- 8Willingness to cross-train across multiple departments as needed.
