Facilities Technician, Data Center Operations & Electrical Systems
Overview
Owns hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of critical and non-critical mechanical and electrical systems within a 24x7 data center. You will monitor and service HVAC, electrical, fire and life safety, and building management systems at scale across North Phoenix. You will collaborate with Facility Manager and third-party contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operations while driving continuous improvement. This role offers a blend of field work, responsiveness to emergencies, and attention to documentation and change control.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical facility equipment
- 2Monitor HVAC, plumbing, generator, fire detection and suppression, and life safety systems to maintain uptime
- 3Oversee electrical operations, maintenance, and energy management in a critical facilities environment
- 4Coordinate changes and approvals in change control processes and ensure compliant execution
- 5Schedule and QA preventive and contracted maintenance and finalize work orders in the computerized maintenance management system
- 6Respond to emergencies and customer concerns and communicate improvements to processes
- 7Supervise 3rd party contractors and ensure safe, compliant operation and modifications
- 8Receive work orders for maintenance and order necessary materials
- 9Understand electrical system design and operation across facilities
- 10Maintain documentation and perform periodic building tours to ensure operational readiness
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 23-5 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical critical facilities support or 7+ years’ experience as HVAC or mechanical/electrical technician
- 3Electrical/mechanical certifications preferred
- 4Willingness to work overtime and 12 hour shifts as needed
- 5Computer skills required: MS Office
