Overview

As a Facility Engineer at NTT Global Data Centers, you'll own the maintenance and repair of critical building systems across our Chicago data center, ensuring uptime for over 150 global facilities. You'll troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to urgent requests. What You'll Do8

  • 1Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems to maintain 99.99% uptime.
  • 2Inspect buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential issues, then recommend fixes.
  • 3Respond to maintenance requests, diagnosing and resolving issues with doors, locks, windows, and other components.
  • 4Execute preventive maintenance schedules on critical systems like UPS, PDU, and CRAC units.
  • 5Install new equipment, fixtures, and furniture, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • 6Repair or replace faulty parts in HVAC units, electrical panels, and plumbing fixtures.
  • 7Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, coordinating procurement within budget.
  • 8Adhere to safety protocols and proactively mitigate risks, reporting hazards immediately.

Requirements9

  • 13+ years hands-on experience in facility maintenance within a data center or critical environment.
  • 2Proven ability to troubleshoot HVAC, electrical (up to 480V), and plumbing systems.
  • 3Working knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) and CMMS for work order tracking.
  • 4Strong verbal and written communication to document repairs and coordinate with teams.
  • 5Client service orientation with a proactive, hands-on approach to preventive maintenance.
  • 6Ability to manage assigned job processes while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
  • 7Experience with safety compliance, including NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.
  • 8Demonstrated experience in carpentry, painting, and general building repair tasks.
  • 9Must be able to work onsite at the Chicago data center, including on-call rotations.
