Data Center Technician L1 NTT Global
Overview
Lead operations for a large data center facility ensuring electrical mechanical and fire life safety systems maintain maximum uptime. Provide creative solutions to minimize costs while supporting sustainable digital transformation. Work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do16
- 1Develop creative approaches to reduce operational costs improve efficiency and implement new strategies
- 2Manage mechanical systems including chilled water systems HVAC roof top units and humidification systems
- 3Oversee electrical distribution from utility main switchgear through UPS systems to customer loads
- 4Maintain fire life safety systems such as wet sprinkler and pre-action sprinkler installations
- 5Test performance of electromechanical assemblies using electronic voltmeters
- 6Read blueprints schematics diagrams and technical orders to determine processes
- 7Inspect parts for surface defects and install electrical or electronic components
- 8Align fit or assemble component parts using hand or power tools
- 9Operate monitor maintain and respond to abnormal conditions in facility systems
- 10Analyze systems to ensure best practices for internal and external customers
- 11Provide feedback on effectiveness of existing standards and processes
- 12Work with contractors to review quality assurance for system expansions corrections and upgrades
- 13Track and complete preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- 14Ensure data center operates at maximum efficiency by analyzing conditions recommending new technologies and reducing costs
- 15Manage systems to avoid unplanned customer impacting events
- 16Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements22
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Understanding of NEC NFPA 70E NFPA 72 NFPA 25 and building codes regarding fire life safety
- 3Knowledge of industrial safety best practices including lockout tag out arc flash protection OSHA and state regulations
- 4Familiarity with data trending tracking and utilization of integrated critical monitoring systems
- 5Ability to process hand eye requests such as tape rotation rack and stack equipment inventory hardware power cycle devices patch cable installation removal
- 6Demonstrated hands-on experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including chilled water systems large centrifugal chillers cooling towers heat exchangers water treatment systems VFD pumps HVAC equipment CRAC/CRAH humidification systems water heaters filters BMS PLC controls emergency standby diesel generator systems fuel oil systems 480/277 and 208/120 electrical generation distribution static UPS systems double interlock pre-action systems
- 7Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- 8Proficiency with MS Office Suite Word Excel PowerPoint Project
- 9Ability to coordinate supervise and communicate with contractors
- 10Quick learning ability to address issues during normal or after hours
- 11Process driven teamwork environment logical problem solving multi-tasking ability
- 12Comfortable operating hand and machine tools including hammer drill saw
- 13Ability to operate electrical tools like multi meter infrared camera
- 14Forklift operation required
- 15High stress fast paced environment with shifting priorities
- 16Shift work including nights holidays and weekends
- 17Critical thinking and complex problem solving skills
- 18Relevant academic qualifications high school diploma or equivalent
- 19Advanced qualification or equivalent work experience
- 20Certifications such as CPR First Aid NFPA70E and OSHA approved forklift certification
- 21Experience in data centre facilities mechanical electrical positions preferably in critical facilities
