
Data Center Facilities Support Engineer - Atlanta, GA
Overview
This role owns the uptime of a critical data center in Lithia Springs, GA, supporting a high-availability infrastructure for Flexon Technologies. You will run preventive maintenance, coordinate vendor visits, and respond to facility emergencies, working with HVAC, PDU, and BMS systems. Based onsite, you will travel to the VDC in Virginia every two months for 2-3 days. This contract position focuses on proactive care and rapid incident response to keep operations running without interruption.
What You'll Do7
- 1Perform routine inspections of HVAC, CRAC, and PDU equipment to identify issues before they cause downtime.
- 2Execute preventive maintenance tasks on power and cooling systems, ensuring all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications.
- 3Coordinate with third-party vendors for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs, managing site access and work orders.
- 4Respond to facility alarms and incidents, diagnosing root causes and implementing immediate fixes or escalations.
- 5Document all maintenance activities and system readings in the CMMS, maintaining accurate records for compliance audits.
- 6Support the installation and commissioning of new racks, PDUs, and cabling, following standard operating procedures.
- 7Manage spare parts inventory for critical components, ensuring parts are available for emergency replacements.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of experience in data center facilities or critical environment operations.
- 2Hands-on experience with HVAC, CRAC, PDU, and BMS systems.
- 3Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a raised-floor environment, including bending and crawling.
- 4Willingness to travel to the VDC in Virginia every two months for 2-3 days.
- 5Strong communication skills to coordinate with vendors and remote teams.
- 6A+ Certification or Electrical/Mechanical trade certification preferred.
- 7Experience with N+1 and 2N redundancy configurations.
