Data Center Operations Engineer, Data Center Automation & Maintenance
Overview
Owns delivery and ongoing reliability of critical data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure at scale. Lead monitoring, preventive maintenance, and incident response for UPS, generators, cooling systems, and associated controls to maintain 100% operational uptime. Collaborates with facilities, vendors, and operations teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient data center performance. This role stands out by combining hands-on facility operations with site knowledge and incident management in a premier enterprise environment.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain 100% uptime for electrical and mechanical systems including UPS, generators, chillers, and CRAC units
- 2Monitor, adjust, and optimize refrigeration, boilers, pumps, and controls to ensure reliable data center cooling
- 3Record readings, analyze system performance, and take corrective action to resolve failures
- 4Manage work orders, CMMS, vendor relationships, and customer-facing tickets to drive timely incident resolution
- 5Understand and execute emergency escalation procedures and incident management at the Phoenix site
Requirements8
- 12+ years related work experience in data center or critical facilities
- 2Hands-on experience with UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgear
- 3High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 4Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- 5Preferred: Corrigo Experience, MCIM / Salesforce Experience, Service Now Experience
- 6EPA 608 certification, NFPA70E training
- 7Able to perform physically demanding tasks and work varied schedules
- 8Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
