Clinical nutrition care for moderate and low nutritional risk patients supporting patient health goals through dietary education and assessment. Provide compassionate high-quality care in collaboration with dietitians and healthcare teams.
What You'll Do8
- 1Provide nutrition education and instruction on identified diet plans to individual patients and families based on physician orders
- 2Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to maintain productivity standards
- 3Perform timely nutrition assessments and screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk
- 4Monitor patient progress and refer patients to dietitians as needed
- 5Document pertinent information in medical records and patient plan of care
- 6Assist with continuous quality improvement activities and meal rounds
- 7Make clinical judgment decisions related to patient care and consult with dietitians or supervisors
- 8Support department staff in delivering quality nutrition patient care
Requirements5
- 1Associate Degree from an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Dietetic Technician program with successful passing of the DTR exam within six months of employment
- 2Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Science
- 3Demonstrated equivalent knowledge as typically obtained with five years acute-care nutrition experience
- 4Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for employees at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BTMC Behavioral, or BUMCS in behavioral health settings serving children
- 5Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed upon hire
