Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Support & Hospital Nutrition
Overview
Own the hospital nutrition program with a focus on comprehensive assessments and nutrition care plans for a diverse patient population. You will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based nutrition care across units, including ICU and cardiac care. This onsite role offers autonomy as the sole clinical nutrition staff at the facility, with remote support from Banner Desert during busier periods.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and review comprehensive nutrition assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams to inform individualized care plans
- 2Lead nutrition care for patients receiving enteral and parenteral nutrition and write orders per state regulations
- 3Evaluate care plan effectiveness and communicate outcomes to the healthcare team to improve patient nutrition
- 4Develop education materials and provide nutrition education to patients, families, and staff
- 5Serve as a mentor to new staff and interns and participate in continuous quality improvement activities
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics or equivalent coursework
- 2Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible per CDR requirements
- 3Master's degree preferred and may be required for eligibility to sit the credentialing exam
- 4Must obtain and maintain RD credentials within 6 months of hire
- 5Arizona fingerprint clearance card or state equivalent as applicable
- 6Current licensure as required by state law
- 7Strong ability to prioritize a complex patient caseload
- 8Effective communication and independent working capability
- 9Experience in nutrition support (enteral and parenteral) preferred
- 10Onsite full-time schedule with rotating weekends
