Senior Registered Dietitian ICU Nutrition - Banner Health
Overview
Own the clinical nutrition leadership for ICU patients in an academic hospital setting with state of the art technology. You will conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, create care plans, and monitor outcomes for high acuity adult trauma and ICU patients. You will mentor colleagues, develop standards of practice, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary health care team. This role emphasizes specialization in clinical nutrition and leadership within a large, mission driven hospital network.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and refine nutrition care plans for ICU patients to improve outcomes
- 2Lead nutrition assessments and nutrition focused physical exams with emphasis on critical care needs
- 3Develop and implement Nutrition Standards of Practice and education materials with peers
- 4Mentor staff and interns, serving as a resource for specialty nutrition
- 5Evaluate care plan effectiveness and communicate outcomes to the care team
- 6Provide patient and family nutrition counseling and education
- 7Participate in quality improvement activities and CQI projects
- 8Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to optimize nutrition support protocols
- 9Create and deliver in service education for the nutrition team
- 10Assist with program marketing and external stakeholder relationships
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or equivalent
- 2Must be a Registered Dietitian with current CDR registration
- 3Master's degree required to sit for registration exam (per 2024 rule)
- 4Current state licensure as required by law
- 53-5 years clinical experience in a specialty area
- 6Senior Dietitian requires 50% of caseload in specialty area
- 7Certification in one of the listed specialty areas (e.g., CNSC, CSP, CSOWM, etc.)
- 8Ability to function independently and lead nutrition services staff
- 9Strong data interpretation and documentation aligned with regulatory standards
- 10Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if applicable
