Registered Dietitian Part Time, Nutrition Support & Education
Overview
Own patient nutrition assessments and care plans at Banner Health with a focus on nutrition support including enteral and parenteral nutrition. Join a collaborative clinical nutrition department within a large acute care system. Work with a team of senior RDs and dietetic technicians, contributing to education and quality improvement initiatives. This role offers a 20 hr/week schedule, weekend and holiday rotation, and a $5,000 sign-on with 12 month commitment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assess patient nutrition needs and perform nutrition-focused physical exams to develop care plans
- 2Manage nutrition support for patients including parenteral and enteral nutrition and write orders per policy
- 3Evaluate care plan effectiveness and communicate outcomes to the care team
- 4Provide patient and family education and develop teaching materials and in-service programs
- 5Participate in quality improvement activities and serve as a mentor to new staff and interns
- 6Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to influence patient care policies and programs
- 7Lead and support nutrition education initiatives for patients, families, and staff
- 8Contribute to documentation in medical records and clinical pathways
- 9Participate in outcome studies as needed
- 10Support community education initiatives when applicable
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics or equivalent coursework
- 2Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible per CDR requirements
- 3Master's degree preferred per CDR policy
- 4Must obtain RD credentials within 6 months of hire and maintain ongoing registration verification
- 5Current licensure as required by state law
- 6Ability to communicate effectively and manage a patient caseload with independence
- 7Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in designated behavioral health settings
- 8Annual verification of registration and credentials
- 9Ability to work 20 hours per week with 8am-4:30pm shift and alternating weekend/holiday rotation
- 10Experience in nutrition support (enteral and parenteral) preferred
