Overview
You own the front-line customer experience at a high-volume Dollar Tree store, handling transactions, stocking shelves, and keeping the sales floor ready. What You'll Do10
- 1Greet every customer and answer questions about product location, pricing, and store policies to speed up their shopping trip.
- 2Ring up sales accurately on the POS system, handle cash, credit, and debit payments, and issue receipts or refunds.
- 3Count the cash drawer at shift start and end, secure cash and assets, and report any discrepancies to the manager on duty.
- 4Replenish shelves and end caps from the back room, rotate stock by expiration date, and build eye-catching displays.
- 5Unload delivery trucks, break down pallets, and move merchandise to the sales floor using pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- 6Sweep and mop floors, clean restrooms, empty trash cans, and wipe down checkout counters to keep the store presentable.
- 7Tag and ticket new merchandise with pricing guns, and verify that shelf labels match the price lookup system.
- 8Direct customers to the right aisle and suggest complementary items to increase basket size, like batteries for flashlights.
- 9Back up the front-end by bagging purchases, gathering carts from the lot, and assisting with self-checkout stations.
- 10Follow loss prevention procedures to spot shoplifting, and report suspicious activity to the store manager.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent, or actively working toward one.
- 26+ months of customer service in a retail, grocery, or fast-food environment (preferred).
- 3Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb for full 8-hour shifts.
- 4Lift 30-50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height, and push or pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs..
- 5Read and interpret store policies, safety documents, and product labels in English.
- 6Use a POS register and handle cash transactions with 99% accuracy.
- 7Work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- 8Communicate clearly with customers and team members, and follow multi-step instructions.
- 9Stay calm during rush periods and resolve customer complaints without supervisor escalation.
- 10Pass a background check and drug screening as required by state law.
