CNC Lathe Programmer - Mazak Mazatrol
Overview
You will program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathes with Mazatrol control at a 70-year-old precision machine shop. You will own the full machining cycle from blueprint to final inspection, producing high-quality parts for diverse industries. You will work on a 4-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, with weekly pay and a benefits package that includes health, dental, and a 3% Simple IRA match. What You'll Do9
- 1Program Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol conversational control for new parts and jobs.
- 2Set up machines including tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets per job specifications.
- 3Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tolerances to machine parts to close specifications.
- 4Select appropriate tooling, inserts, speeds, and feeds for efficient and safe production.
- 5Perform first-piece inspections and make adjustments to maintain part quality throughout the run.
- 6Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators to verify dimensions.
- 7Monitor machine operations and adjust offsets or processes to hold tolerances.
- 8Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- 9Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all company safety and quality procedures.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes.
- 2Proven experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol control.
- 3Ability to read and understand machining drawings and geometric tolerances.
- 4Strong knowledge of turning operations, tooling, inserts, and workholding.
- 5Skill in inspecting parts with standard precision measuring equipment.
- 6Ability to make offsets and adjustments to maintain part quality.
- 7Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- 8Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
