CNC Lathe Machinist, Mazak & Mazatrol

You will program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathes with Mazatrol control at a 70-year-old precision machine shop. You will own the full machining cycle from blueprint to final inspection, producing high-quality parts for diverse industries. You will work on a 4-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, with weekly pay and a benefits package that includes health, dental, and a 3% Simple IRA match. You'll set up and run precision 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills and lathes in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace and defense machine shop in Gilbert, AZ. The shop offers optional overtime (10+ hours weekly) and training on 5-axis machining for machinists with strong fundamentals. You'll run CNC lathes in a high-mix job shop, producing precision parts to blueprint specs. Work on Fanuc and Mazatrol controls, with Mazak Multiplex and Mori Seiki multitask machines. Join a team of 20 machinists in an air-conditioned shop, reporting to the Lathe Department Lead. This role stands out for its cross-training on live tooling and multi-spindle machines, plus a clear path to senior machinist.

You will own the setup, programming, and operation of CNC lathes and mill-turn machines for precision parts in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and medical industries. You will work in a job shop environment with frequent changeovers and short runs, maintaining tight tolerances and high quality. The role requires independent execution from blueprint to finished part, collaborating with a small team when needed.
