CNC Lathe Machinist, Mazak & Mazatrol
Overview
You will own setup and operation of Mazak CNC lathes at an ISO-9001/AS9100/NADCAP accredited facility producing precision parts for Aerospace, Medical, Military, and Space industries. You will interpret blueprints, inspect parts, and submit qualified first articles to Q.A. for validation. This role sits on a day shift in a clean, air-conditioned shop in Gilbert, Arizona, working alongside a family-oriented team. Unlike typical machine shops, your input on program adjustments and Mazatrol programming directly impacts lifesaving systems.
What You'll Do7
- 1Set up and operate single or multiple Mazak CNC Lathes to produce precision parts.
- 2Read and interpret blueprints supporting Aerospace industries with proficiency.
- 3Inspect parts and submit qualified first article pieces to Q.A. for validation.
- 4Retrieve programs from the program library and set up jaws and fixtures per program.
- 5Select and load required tools on tool holders, set tool lengths and fixture offsets.
- 6Run first article pieces, perform dimensional inspections, and meet requirements before submission.
- 7Make program adjustments as needed to sustain dimensional targets (preferred).
Requirements8
- 15+ years of experience as a Journeyman CNC Lathe Machinist or equivalent (implied by 'journeyman').
- 2Proficiency in generating programs with Mazatrol Controller and setting up/running Mazak lathes.
- 3Ability to read blueprints supporting Aerospace industries.
- 4Competent knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- 5Experience using precision measuring equipment: Height Gages, Calipers, Micrometers.
- 6Ability to measure dimensions of first article to ensure proper setup.
- 7Experience writing and editing programs on Mazatrol Controller is preferred.
- 8Self-starter with a team-oriented mentality and desire to continuously improve.
