CNC Lathe Machinist II, Second Shift
Overview
CNC Lathe Machinist II on second shift will operate Mazak lathes to exacting customer specs at scale for aerospace and medical devices. You will join a family founded shop investing in technology and people. Work with a cross functional team including Sales, Engineering, and Quality to deliver precision parts. This role emphasizes continuous improvement, safety, and quality control.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and optimize setups for in process inspection verifications and save them for future use
- 2Program machines both on and offline and edit programs with minimal supervision
- 3Operate forklift and maintain a clean organized work area
- 4Perform GD&T inspections and interpret CMM reports to drive process changes
- 5Lead the creation of process documentation to meet QMS requirements and assist in tooling selection
- 6Establish feed and speeds and design/build work holding fixtures
- 7Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity and quality
- 8Produce prototype products to customer expectations with limited documentation
- 9Provide SME support to Sales, Engineering and Quality functions
- 10Develop the skills of Level I-III machinists and mentor junior technicians
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma required
- 25+ years manufacturing machining experience
- 3Advanced understanding of GD&T and machining methodologies
- 4Ability to read job travelers and manufacturing documentation
- 5Experience operating CMM and interpreting reports
- 6Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- 7Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- 8Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 9Ability to maintain accurate records and comply with safety and quality policies
