Bilingual Spanish Office Specialist - Charter School
Overview
You will coordinate school operations for a charter school network in South Los Angeles, serving 10+ school sites. You will own daily attendance, family communication, and facility coordination, ensuring smooth operations across multiple campuses. You will use Spanish daily to translate documents and interpret at IEP meetings. This role reports directly to the school principal and offers direct impact on student success through high ADA achievement.
What You'll Do10
- 1Answer phone calls, take messages, and greet guests, serving as the first point of contact for families and visitors.
- 2Coordinate logistics for field trips and end-of-year field lessons, including scheduling, permissions, and transportation.
- 3Respond to teacher calls for classroom support and assist in planning school-wide events and fundraisers.
- 4Manage purchasing and distribution of materials such as field trip supplies, uniforms, office supplies, and teacher supplies.
- 5Support the School Nutrition Program by entering meal applications, submitting monthly meal calendars, reporting daily meal counts, and collecting meal balances.
- 6Support daily attendance procedures and collaborate with the Registrar to maintain accurate student attendance records.
- 7Communicate attendance expectations to families and assist in activities that improve Average Daily Attendance (ADA).
- 8Organize and maintain a clean, secure office environment, and oversee completion of all facility requests.
- 9Translate and distribute school correspondence in Spanish and English, including letters, memos, and weekly bulletins.
- 10Assist in translating parent meetings, including Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, and build strong family relationships.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 21+ years of office administration experience in an educational setting (elementary, middle, high school, or college) or with student-focused organizations.
- 3Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- 4Pass DOJ/FBI Live Scan background check and TB test (cost reimbursed by company).
- 5Proficiency with office software including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- 6Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced school environment.
- 7Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
- 8Availability to work onsite at various school locations in the Los Angeles area.
