Overview

The Benefits Specialist owns the administration, compliance, and communication of employee benefits at scale within a corporate HR team. You will serve as a trusted resource for employees and stakeholders, handling benefit programs and inquiries with precision. This role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and process improvement to enhance the employee experience. You will join a cross functional HR team in a hybrid Saint Paul, MN setting and contribute to our benefits program maturity.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build benefit administration workflows for medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, life and retirement programs to improve processing accuracy and service levels
  • 2Design and process COBRA and LOA related premium payments and communications to ensure compliance and timely coverage
  • 3Own vendor invoices, benefit statements, and related accounting spreadsheets to support accurate reporting
  • 4Respond to employee inquiries on benefits and escalate complex issues to subject matter experts when needed
  • 5Coordinate eligibility, enrollments, and ongoing administration of medical and life insurance
  • 6Complete benefit forms and QMCSO processing accurately and on time
  • 7Review FSA and COBRA reports to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • 8Identify opportunities to enhance benefits processes and the employee experience
  • 9Support Adoption Assistance Program administration and related activities
  • 10Assist in exploring AI enabled tools to streamline benefits administration and reporting

Requirements10

  • 1High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting employee benefits administration
  • 3Basic knowledge of employee benefits and HR practices
  • 4Strong customer service, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
  • 5Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • 6Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • 7Experience administering leaves of absence (LOA) is a plus
  • 8Previous benefits administration experience within a corporate environment is a plus
  • 9Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including reporting and spreadsheet management
  • 10Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and benefits administration platforms
