Benefits Coordinator, Government Benefits Administration & Public Sector
Overview
Benefits Coordinator leading employee benefits programs at a public sector organization. Own design and management of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement benefits for a diverse workforce. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and design competitive group benefit packages aligned with strategic objectives and cost controls
- 2Manage medical dental vision life disability and voluntary plans and administer enrollments changes and terminations
- 3Assist employees with claims issues and Qualifying Life Events QLEs while ensuring accurate plan status
- 4Maintain up to date knowledge of market leading insurance plans and retirement programs
- 5Design and deliver benefits communications and training for new hires and retirees
- 6Serve as primary point of contact for benefits questions and benefit related audits and compliance
- 7Audit benefit invoices verify eligibility and ensure correct payroll deductions
- 8Coordinate open enrollment communications materials and sessions
- 9Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve enrollment and coverage questions
- 10Prepare benefits related reports and documentation for audits and regulatory compliance
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in HR Business Administration or related field
- 2Proven benefits administration experience ideally in public sector or government
- 3Strong knowledge of group benefit plans insurance products and retirement programs
- 4Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for explaining complex benefits information
- 5Ability to analyze benefits data market trends and recommend improvements
- 6Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- 7Experience with HRIS and benefits vendor systems and COBRA administration
- 8Knowledge of HIPAA ACA and relevant federal and state regulations
- 9Background check including fingerprint based FBI history as part of employment consideration
