Overview
Automotive Mechanic at Mavis Tire Supply will own undercar repairs and inspections for a high-volume service center. You will diagnose, repair, and service brakes, shocks, tires, oils, fluids, and related components for a wide range of vehicles. This role supports state inspections and tire mounting balancing responsibilities and requires physical stamina to stand, crawl, and lift items over 50 pounds. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and diagnose undercar systems including brakes, struts, and shocks to restore vehicle safety and performance
- 2Inspect and complete state inspections as part of maintenance services and ensure compliance
- 3Mount, dismount, rotate, and balance tires with proper wheel alignment when needed
- 4Change oil and filters and check fluids to maintain optimal engine health
- 5Replace worn parts and perform preventive maintenance to extend vehicle life
- 6Collaborate with technicians and service writers to deliver high quality customer experiences
- 7Document service findings and communicate repair recommendations to customers
- 8Maintain clean and organized work bays and follow safety procedures
- 9Assist in training junior technicians and apprentices as needed
- 10Contribute to team goals by meeting service targets and productivity metrics
Requirements4
- 1Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
- 2Possess 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience or equivalent training
- 3Have an extensive personal toolbox for undercar repairs
- 4Preferred: state inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5)
