Overview
Lighthouse Community Public Schools seeks an Attendance & Student Records Clerk to ensure accurate student attendance records and support student success. This role focuses on maintaining attendance data and assisting families while contributing to the organization's mission of empowering underserved students.
What You'll Do20
- 1Monitor and enter daily attendance into a student database
- 2Edit and generate reports based on attendance data requests
- 3Maintain comprehensive attendance records and notify staff of attendance variances
- 4Process incoming attendance and immunization documentation from multiple sources
- 5Handle phone communications regarding student absences
- 6Relay messages between students parents and staff
- 7Verify absences through parent teacher or administrator contact
- 8Communicate absence reasons to families
- 9Issue late slips and serve as substitute for office managers
- 10Assist with clerical tasks like intercom use and supply requisition
- 11Support attendance initiatives and home visit coordination
- 12Participate in attendance recovery and SART processes
- 13Attend district-wide meetings and follow up on attendance-related actions
- 14Conduct site-based follow-up for chronic absenteeism cases
- 15Compile attendance statistics and prepare reports
- 16Prepare accurate absence lists for educators
- 17Maintain confidentiality of student records
- 18Support summer registration and enrollment tasks
- 19Process prescription and OTC medical forms
- 20Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Requirements14
- 1A.A. degree required Bachelor’s preferred
- 2Bilingual Spanish fluency required
- 32+ years administrative experience in school or nonprofit urban settings
- 4Experience in student services preferred
- 5Detail-oriented with strong follow-through abilities
- 6Excellent communication and computer skills
- 7Maturity and independent work capability
- 8Flexibility for competing priorities
- 9Strong interpersonal skills with students parents and staff
- 10Ability to thrive in loud environments and adapt to weather changes
- 11Physical stamina for standing sitting and moving
- 12Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- 13Previous school or youth empowerment work preferred
