Aquaplex Senior Lifeguard
Overview
The Aquaplex Senior Lifeguard assists the Aquaplex Manager in coordinating daily operations at the Aztec Aquaplex ensuring compliance with policies and providing a safe environment for members and guests. This role focuses on staff supervision facility events and upholding the Aztec Recreation mission.
What You'll Do11
- 1Assist in managing daily operations to ensure policy compliance and safety
- 2Perform lifeguard duties and respond to emergencies administering CPR and first aid
- 3Replace pool covers test water chemistry and conduct routine maintenance
- 4Supervise staff and build operations maintaining equipment and chemical standards
- 5Assist with supervision of Aquaplex programming and events
- 6Supervise lifeguard staff in the absence of the Aquatic Manager
- 7Coach and train new lifeguards on techniques and safety precautions
- 8Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions
- 9Knowledgeable of departmental procedures and emergency policies
- 10Maintain communication with Aztec Recreation Career staff
- 11Support member services representatives and lead positions
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Recreational Administration Physical Education Sports Administration or related field
- 2Two years supervisory experience in recreation or related field
- 3Certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the professional rescuer and Lifeguard Training
- 4Current certification in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
- 5Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
- 6Ability to obtain certifications within specified timeframes
- 7Strong organizational skills and ability to follow directions
- 8Professional demeanor and ability to work independently under pressure
- 9Experience with Fusion software and When to Work scheduling program
- 10Background check and fingerprinting clearance required
