Wire Harness Assembler
Overview
Design and assemble wire harnesses for aerospace and defense using IPC-620/Mil-Spec standards. Operate stripping machines and hand tools to load connectors, twist wire, install labels, and perform soldering and crimping. Ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.

- 1Verify traveler documentation for accuracy
- 2Inspect materials for damage or defects
- 3Prepare cables by cutting de-jacketing and stripping
- 4Load connectors and apply labels and heat shrink tubing
- 5Assemble harnesses on assembly boards following blueprints
- 6Perform soldering crimping and other assembly operations
- 7Operate stripping machines and hand tools safely
- 8Apply IPC-620/Mil-Spec workmanship standards
- 9Sign work order travelers after each step
- 10Maintain clean and organized work area
- 11Report safety hazards and injuries immediately
Requirements11
- 13-5 months electronics field experience
- 2Knowledge of IPC-620 J-STD-001 standards
- 3Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
- 4Proficiency with soldering and crimping tools
- 5Experience preparing cables with manual equipment
- 6Strong attention to detail in documentation
- 7Physical ability to lift 20 pounds
- 8High school diploma or GED
- 9Familiarity with IPC-610 standards
