Welder MIG & FCAW Fabrication
Overview
You will own precision MIG and FCAW welding on metal structures for construction and maintenance projects across Houston. You will join a fabrication team of 15+ welders and fitters, reporting to the shop lead. You will read blueprints daily, operate hand and power tools safely, and uphold strict safety standards on-site. This role stands out for its mix of shop fabrication and field installation work, with pay up to $25.00 per hour.
What You'll Do8
- 1Execute MIG and FCAW welds on metal components, ensuring they meet project specs and safety standards.
- 2Interpret construction plans, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications to produce accurate welds.
- 3Read and analyze blueprints to identify weld locations, joint types, and material requirements.
- 4Use hand tools and power tools safely to prepare materials, assemble components, and complete welding tasks.
- 5Adhere to strict safety protocols including fire safety, power tool safety, and construction site procedures.
- 6Conduct routine inspections of welds and fittings for quality assurance, performing maintenance or repairs as needed.
- 7Assist in fabricating metal structures or components based on project requirements, supporting assembly and installation on-site.
- 8Follow all safety regulations during welding operations, participating in safety meetings and training sessions regularly.
Requirements6
- 1Proficiency in MIG welding and FCAW; TIG welding a plus.
- 22+ years of welding experience in fabrication or construction.
- 3Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, construction plans, and schematics accurately.
- 4Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, including material properties and weld integrity.
- 5Familiarity with power tools such as grinders, cutters, and drills, committed to power tool safety practices.
- 6Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to materials and weld sizes.
