MIG/Flux-Core Welder Fabricator, 3F & 4F
Overview
You will own fabrication and welding projects in Grand Prairie, TX, producing structural steel components with MIG and Flux-Core processes. You will read blueprints, operate cutting and grinding equipment, and ensure weld quality meets 3F Vertical and 4F Overhead standards. This role demands precision and adherence to safety protocols, reporting directly to the Line Manager. You will contribute to team output targets while maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area.
What You'll Do8
- 1Read and interpret blueprints to understand project plans and produce required shapes and weldments.
- 2Prepare materials by cutting and shaping per structural plans, then execute skilled MIG and Flux-Core welds.
- 3Inspect welds and assemblies, diagnosing issues and performing necessary repairs or adjustments.
- 4Operate grinders and other tools to smooth and clean surfaces before and after welding.
- 5Assemble component parts using hand tools and small power tools, ensuring accurate fit-up.
- 6Identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments to ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
- 7Report to the Line Manager immediately on any issues affecting quality, safety, or client satisfaction.
- 8Meet personal targets and support the team to achieve overall production goals.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of fabrication experience, including cutting, fitting, and assembly.
- 23+ years of MIG and Flux-Core welding experience, certified in 3F Vertical and 4F Overhead positions.
- 3Ability to produce 1/16 bearing and fillet welds to specification.
- 4Capacity to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- 5Valid driver's license to travel to job sites as needed.
- 6Own personal protective equipment (PPE) including helmet, gloves, and safety glasses.
- 7Demonstrated understanding of welding safety protocols and defect identification.
- 8Proficiency with grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools.
