What You'll Do10

  • 1Conduct individual needs assessments for victims and survivors, using independent judgment to implement targeted interventions.
  • 2Build and execute case management action plans tailored to each victim's needs, including grief support and crisis intervention.
  • 3Accompany victims to justice proceedings and advocate for their rights within the criminal justice system.
  • 4Perform community needs assessments to design and deliver victim services programs and outreach events.
  • 5Create outreach strategies to connect with underserved victims of drunk and drugged driving crashes.
  • 6Establish a network of key contacts in legal, medical, and social services to facilitate victim assistance.
  • 7Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support MADD's victim service initiatives.
  • 8Maintain accurate case records and grant reports per MADD and grant standards.
  • 9Drive a small fundraising goal by cultivating corporate partnerships and sponsorships.
  • 10Support grant writing and reporting for MADD Kansas as needed.

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor's degree in human services (social work, psychology, sociology, or criminal justice) plus 1+ year in victim advocacy or grief support.
  • 2Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
  • 3Equivalent experience in victim case management or grief counseling accepted.
  • 4Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule for court appearances.
  • 5Strong organizational skills with detail orientation and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • 6Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • 7Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing environment.
  • 8Proven computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • 9Commitment to MADD's mission and ability to maintain confidentiality.
