Turret Operator Automation Associate
Overview
You will own daily operations of automated material handling equipment in a cold storage warehouse, ensuring uptime and productivity across shifts. Working with WMS, WCS, and PLC systems, you will troubleshoot faults, optimize throughput, and maintain data integrity. You will collaborate closely with vendors and USCS specialists to resolve system outages and integrate solutions. This role demands a self-starter who can thrive in a dynamic automation environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Monitor WCS interface for automation faults and clear them per SOPs to maintain workflow.
- 2Troubleshoot and optimize PLC programs to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- 3Use WMS and WCS to resolve errors and prevent inventory comingling, initiating pallet consolidation as needed.
- 4Track automation mission counts to ensure workload capacity and escalate conflicts to shift supervisors.
- 5Act as liaison between operations, automation provider, and USCS specialists during system outages.
- 6Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on automation equipment to reduce downtime.
- 7Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements in warehouse automation.
- 8Maintain data integrity in WMS and WCS for accurate operational execution.
- 9Physically move product when needed to resolve machine faults and ensure smooth operations.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2Some technical training in automation or related field preferred.
- 3Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 70 lbs occasionally with assistance.
- 4Comfort working in temperatures from +50°F to -30°F with moderate noise.
- 5Stand and walk for extended periods; use hands for controls and tools.
- 6Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- 7Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other warehouse equipment.
- 8Possess strong arithmetic and reading skills to follow instructions and policies.
- 9Self-starter able to work independently and coordinate with others in a fast-paced environment.
