Assistant Automation Maintenance Technician
Overview
You will own preventive maintenance and repair for a fleet of P1200 robots and Pop Pick stations at a high-volume S&S Activewear warehouse. Join a team of four technicians reporting to the Automation Maintenance Lead, coordinating with operations to keep uptime above 98%. This role offers a Tuesday-Saturday schedule and hands-on training on KUKA and Dematic systems.
What You'll Do10
- 1Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all automated equipment, including P1200 robots and Pop Pick stations.
- 2Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults on KUKA robots and Dematic conveyors.
- 3Document all maintenance activities in CWMS and update spare parts inventory daily.
- 4Lead root-cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- 5Coordinate with operations to schedule downtime windows that minimize disruption to picking and packing.
- 6Update process documentation for maintenance procedures and equipment specifications.
- 7Train junior technicians on safe lockout/tagout and proper use of PPE.
- 8Initiate work requests in CMMS for non-routine repairs and escalate critical issues.
- 9Safely operate forklifts and powered pallet jacks for parts retrieval and equipment transport.
- 10Adjust work schedule to cover Saturday shifts and holidays to maintain maximum uptime.
Requirements9
- 16+ months of experience in industrial maintenance, including mechanical and electrical repair.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for log entry and reporting.
- 5Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hour shifts.
- 6Willingness to work overtime and holidays as needed.
- 7Basic understanding of PLC logic and robotic control systems.
- 8Strong troubleshooting skills for automated equipment.
- 9Certification in OSHA safety or equivalent is a plus.
