Automation Controls System Operator, Warehouse Automation
Overview
You operate and troubleshoot the KPI automated warehouse system in Raleigh, NC. You monitor real-time case data on Ignition software and manage workflows at the switch platform to keep product moving from intake to palletizer. Working with a team of automation operators, maintenance techs, and the KPI automation group, you ensure zero downtime during production. This role blends hands-on mechanical fixes with data-driven process control, offering a clear path from operator to senior automation specialist.
What You'll Do10
- 1Monitor all case data as it releases from the automation system down to each palletizer using Ignition software.
- 2Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on the automated case pick system, including conveyors, switch platform, and palletizers.
- 3Complete product movements in and out of the automation system as needed to match physical flow.
- 4Provide corrective and reactive maintenance on facility assets, performing root-cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
- 5Execute search timing edits and active edits to maintain case data integrity in Ignition.
- 6Communicate lane failures to automation system operators using the fault alert system to prevent downtime.
- 7Diagnose and resolve data issues or mechanical problems at the palletizers with platform operators.
- 8Verify QA notifications at the switch platform and resolve any issues that arise.
- 9Monitor case orientation and condition to ensure safe product descent on declines.
- 10Start and stop production via Ignition for data manipulation and oversee data inserts to match physical cases.
Requirements10
- 12-5 years in industrial maintenance, automation, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- 2Working knowledge of automated warehouse systems, conveyor systems, and electromechanical equipment.
- 3Basic understanding of PLC-controlled automation systems and industrial control software.
- 4Experience using HMI or SCADA platforms.
- 5Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and software issues in an automated environment.
- 6Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems.
- 7Analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause analysis capability.
- 8Effective communication and teamwork with operations, maintenance, vendors, and technical support.
- 9Ability to prioritize work and perform with minimal supervision in a production environment.
- 10Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams; basic networking skills; valid driver's license and clean MVR.
