Overview

You will own the uptime and performance of industrial control systems at a high-volume milk plant, supporting Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms. You will partner with maintenance and operations to diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and drive automation upgrades across the facility. This contract role stands apart with 1st shift hours, potential extension, and direct exposure to food-grade processing environments. You will apply Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, and Ignition to keep production running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Install, configure, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems supporting production equipment, using Studio 5000 and RSLogix 5000.
  • 2Diagnose and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control system faults to minimize downtime on the line.
  • 3Calibrate and maintain field instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
  • 4Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • 5Support SCADA platforms including Ignition and FactoryTalk View SE/ME for process visualization and monitoring.
  • 6Troubleshoot industrial communication networks including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet.
  • 7Utilize diagnostic tools such as RSLinx, Wireshark, and HART communicators to isolate and resolve issues.
  • 8Document maintenance activities and system modifications accurately in the CMMS.
  • 9Follow OSHA safety standards and plant safety procedures, including LOTO and Arc Flash protocols.
  • 10Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to implement automation improvements and increase equipment reliability.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years maintaining and troubleshooting industrial automation and control systems.
  • 2Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, and RSLogix 5000.
  • 3Strong understanding of electrical controls, instrumentation, and process control systems.
  • 4Experience with motor control systems, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • 5Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet industrial protocols.
  • 6Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and P&IDs.
  • 7Experience calibrating pressure, temperature, flow, and level instrumentation.
  • 8Familiarity with CMMS software such as Fiix.
  • 9Proficiency with RSLinx, Wireshark, HART communicators, and electrical testing tools.
  • 10Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and flexible shifts as needed.
