Overview

You own electrical, automation, and controls systems across a high-speed food and beverage plant in West Sacramento. You troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, VFDs, and industrial instrumentation to cut downtime and keep production moving. You work with a team of engineers and maintenance pros to improve reliability and safety. This role demands rapid response and deep hands-on expertise. You get to shape equipment uptime in a critical manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Install, inspect, and repair industrial electrical and controls equipment, including PLC I/O, HMIs, and sensors.
  • 2Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, AS-i networks, DeviceNet, and automation components to fix issues fast.
  • 3Diagnose electrical and controls failures to minimize production downtime and document every repair.
  • 4Configure and troubleshoot VFDs for motors and pumps, ensuring precise speed and torque control.
  • 5Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to guide repairs and improvements.
  • 6Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical gear, following LOTO and NFPA 70E safety.
  • 7Support reliability initiatives with engineering, testing new sensors and controls to boost line efficiency.
  • 8Log all maintenance activity, repairs, and shift handoffs in detailed records.

Requirements9

  • 13+ years as an industrial electrician, controls technician, or in industrial maintenance.
  • 2Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming in a manufacturing setting.
  • 3Strong VFD installation, programming, and troubleshooting skills.
  • 4Solid understanding of three-phase electrical systems and motor diagnostics.
  • 5Ability to read schematics and electrical blueprints.
  • 6Experience with AS-i networks, DeviceNet, and HMIs.
  • 7Familiarity with LOTO, OSHA, and NFPA 70E safety standards.
  • 8High-speed manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 9Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and work in a noisy plant environment.
