Operations Worker, Warehouse & Order Selection
Overview
You'll select products from inventory and assemble, pack, and stage pallets for shipment in a high-volume freezer, cooler, and dry warehouse. You'll operate material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, maintain Warehouse Management System records, and meet productivity standards. This role demands safety-first execution and attention to detail to prevent product damage. You'll work closely with supervisors to minimize shrink and ensure accurate staging, making you a critical link in the supply chain.
What You'll Do9
- 1Select products following the pick path, label correctly, and stage pallets for shipment.
- 2Stack pallets with heavier items on bottom and lighter on top to prevent damage and secure loads.
- 3Deliver stacked pallets to the loading dock for systematic loading and shrink-wrap them for delivery.
- 4Record item information into WMS and maintain accurate shortage logs, reporting to the supervisor.
- 5Maintain neatness and cleanliness of work areas, travel aisles, and loading bays.
- 6Operate material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks safely; perform daily inspections and report repairs.
- 7Report unsafe issues (e.g., Lock Out/Tag Out) immediately to the supervisor.
- 8Enforce all safety rules and comply with company policies and regulations, including OSHA, HACCP, and BRC.
- 9Cross-train in other warehouse functions as needed.
Requirements9
- 118+ years old due to safety and legal requirements.
- 2High school diploma or GED preferred; warehouse experience a plus.
- 3Experience with reach trucks, especially Crown or Raymond models, a plus.
- 4Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write basic correspondence.
- 5Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and compute rates and ratios.
- 6Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift up to 50-60 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
- 7Vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- 8Ability to work in freezer/cooler environments and around loud moving equipment.
- 9Certification on material handling equipment or ability to become certified.
