Overview
We need a temporary Mazak lathe operator for 4 to 6 weeks in Detroit Michigan. The candidate will program and run Mazak Nexus quick turn machines and deliver results. This role offers a chance to grow skills in a collaborative team.
What You'll Do9
- 1Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes including calibration and tooling changes
- 2Load programs using CNC G-code and execute quick turn orders
- 3Interpret mechanical blueprints to determine machining requirements
- 4Use precision tools like calipers and micrometers to verify part quality
- 5Perform manual machining tasks with hand tools and grinders
- 6Conduct CNC quality inspections following GD&T standards
- 7Assist with machine maintenance and troubleshoot M-code errors
- 8Follow safety protocols while handling tools and power equipment
- 9Maintain accurate records of production output and machine performance
Requirements7
- 15+ years operating CNC lathes especially Mazak or similar brands
- 2Programming experience with G-code and M-code functions
- 3Blueprint reading proficiency for mechanical designs
- 4CAD software familiarity with SolidWorks or equivalent
- 5Measurement instrument skills using micrometers and bore gauges
- 6Mathematical abilities for tolerance calculations
- 7Mechanical knowledge of lathe operations and EDM processes
