Temporary Boiler Maintenance Technician, Philadelphia
Overview
Own boiler operations and maintenance at the USDA ERRC facility in Philadelphia from December 1st to March 31st. You will maintain, test, and repair boilers and associated equipment, ensuring steam pressures and water temperatures remain stable. Work onsite with a small facilities team, reporting daily operating conditions via CMMS and Microsoft Excel. This temporary role offers $33-38/hr and requires a clear background check and reliable transportation.
What You'll Do8
- 1Record system operating conditions daily, logging data into CMMS and Microsoft Excel
- 2Repair and replace boiler components such as valves, nozzles, and oil filters
- 3Clean nozzles and oil filters, repack valves, and grease or oil motors and other equipment
- 4Inspect, maintain, and adjust boiler controls for safe and economic operation
- 5Check and maintain motors, traps, piping, and electrical systems
- 6Diagnose and troubleshoot boiler issues, applying manufacturer specifications
- 7Complete maintenance documentation and file records promptly
- 8Perform general housekeeping of boiler equipment and surrounding spaces
Requirements7
- 13+ years of hands-on boiler maintenance and troubleshooting experience
- 2Knowledge of a variety of boiler systems and components
- 3Familiarity with CMMS and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- 4Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- 5Clear background investigation
- 6Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills
- 7Ability to work onsite in Philadelphia from December 1st to March 31st
